New CD Release: George Smith at the Paramount Page Vol. 1 (contd.)

He has taught piano and organ for nearly 50 years and was associate organist at the Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis, Indiana from 1977-1994 where he played a 5/88 Skinner pipe organ.

George has been the resident organist at the Paramount Theatre in Anderson, Indiana from 1997 to present. He, along with he wife Norma of 52 years have enjoyed raising funds to help refurbish the Grande Page 3/12 which he plays on this CD. It is labor of love for them and is an ongoing project which will never end. They are members of the Central Indiana Chapter of the Amercian Theatre Organ Society (CIC-ATOS). This summer George performed for the JATOE and CATOE groups in the Joliet and Chicago areas as well as the annual CIC pitch-in at the home of ATOS Director Michael Fellenzer in Indianapolis.

George Smith is widely known for being chosen as the official organist/pianist for the International Lions Clubs Association as well as for state and local Lions clubs for many years. He has played the Wulitzer 4/33 at the Music Palace in Sharonville, Ohio as substitute organist as well as the 3/18 Barton at the Warren Center for the Performing Arts in Indianapolis.
